Flare Stack Inspections

In the past month Skeye has inspected several ‘onshore’ flare stacks for an Oil & Gas operator.

The scope consisted of a complete visual preventive maintenance UAV inspection of the structure including ladders & platforms and the complete flare construction including heat shielding and all piping. During the UAV flights the inspection focussed on corrosion, coating, loose and missing objects, connections and overall mechanical damage.

With the use of professional UAV, highly sensitive sensors and very experienced UAV pilots, Skeye could capture very detailed data for its client. The inspection took one day per flare and were carried out on live installations in order to avoid downtime in production.

With the qualitative data of this safe and cost efficient UAV inspection our client is capable to determine if regular maintenance is needed or if the maintenance shutdown can be postponed into the future.
